Annual Spring CommUnity Auction
The Annual Spring CommUNITY Auction benefits the Ludington & Scottville Chamber of Commerce and the Mason County Central Educational Foundation. It was held virtually in 2021 and 2022 due to concerns surrounding the COVID-19 virus. In 2022, over 220 items were up for auction and those who purchased trail-cams were entered into a raffle for a Browning X-Bold 6.5 Creedmoor. One major item up for auction was an 11-week old Golden Labrador puppy named Jasper.
Traditionally and when the event can be held again in-person, admission is $25 per person or two for $45 and includes snacks, refreshments, and a bid number. The event normally features a $500 raffle along with live and silent auctions and bidders can expect trip packages, entertainment, sporting goods, home items, and more. Hundreds of goods and services are will be showcased. Tickets are available at Smith & Eddy Insurance, Squires Family Care Chiropractic, the MCC Business Office, and the Ludington & Scottville Area Chamber of Commerce
The event is a joint benefit and the Ludington & Scottville Chamber of Commerce uses proceeds for their Choices Program, Talent Connect, and Boomerang events which are all geared toward educating community youth about the opportunities Mason County has to offer and encouraging them to return here to live, work, and play. For 2022, the Mason County Central Educational Foundation plans to use funds raised for the school district’s upcoming bond project.
