The Annual Stratford on the Avenue Theatre Festival
The annual Stratford on the Avenue Theatre Festival is a production of the Stage Left Theatre Company, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization comprised of local individuals dedicated to providing a variety of theatre opportunities to the community and, eventually, hosting educational workshops and children's theatre events.
The 2020 outdoor theatre festival was canceled due to the COVID-19 virus. Stay tuned for information on Stratford on the Avenue 2021
The event is held at Rotary Park (formerly City Park) in downtown Ludington and features classical play performances by the likes of Shakespeare, Molière, Wild, etc. The 2019 event included a classic performance of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream and an abridged, comedic adaptation of Othello entitled "Oh H*ll No!" and written/directed by Erin Thibalt.
Tickets are generally $7 in advance at EventBrite.com and $10 at the gate.
There are also concessions and t-shirts for sale and all proceeds benefit upcoming Stage Left programs like their Youth Theatre Project, acting workshops, and educational scholarships.
