Discover the Ludington / Hamlin Lake Area

Hamlin Lake is just 10 minutes north of downtown Ludington. There’s plenty to see and do while you stay around Hamlin Lake! Discover many options for lodging, boating, fishing, dining, and fun things to do on our Hamlin Lake Business Directory.

There are many things to do and see in the Ludington area. Just minutes south of Hamlin Lake is Downtown Ludington, offering so much to see and do! For instance, you will find a spacious beach at Stearns Park, which is also home to a mini-golf course, shuffleboard, concessions, and a playground. Plus, if you feel like strolling, you can take a walk on the long pier out to the Ludington North Breakwater Light–one of the most popular lighthouses on Lake Michigan. From Stearns Park, and especially from the lighthouse, you’ll have an exceptional view of the S.S. Badger car ferry passing by as it makes daily cruises to and from Manitowoc, Wisconsin.

Many fine dining and casual restaurants are near the downtown area.

And don’t miss an opportunity to explore the popular Ludington State Park. Whether you enjoy hiking, canoeing, or just relaxing in beautiful natural settings, you’ll find plenty to see and do at the Ludington State Park. Swimming, boating, sailing, windsurfing, and water skiing are enjoyed by many on Hamlin Lake–a lake that is big enough for all.

Hamlin Lake and its bayous offer an outstanding variety of fish–perch, crappie, bluegill, northern pike, large and small mouth bass, and walleye. Over 600,000 walleye planted in recent years are now game size.

Lake Michigan salmon and steelhead are seasonally plentiful at the Ludington State Park dam site, and dozens of charter boats are ready to take you salmon fishing from the Ludington harbor into Lake Michigan.
