You can start by reserving a room in one of the charming bed and breakfasts, known for their cozy rooms with whirlpool tubs and fireplaces. They’re all located along Ludington Avenue close to downtown. Many offer special “romantic” packages that may include champagne, spa amenities and delicious breakfasts. Various motels and hotels in Ludington also feature cozy rooms with whirlpools, with some offering a nice, hot continental breakfast. 

Enjoy a romantic dinner at one of our local restaurants. From steaks and seafood to Italian or Mexican fare, the two of you will have your choice of restaurants in town where you can relax and unwind. Small, intimate pubs, elegant but casual restaurants, quaint coffee shop- all perfect places to sit and chat while you satisfy your hunger. 

True relaxation begins when you visit a spa together. Our area boasts many salons, some with couple’s packages for facials, massage, or event manicures or pedicures. Ludington is one of Michigan’s top vacation destinations, and it’s no secret why! Hundreds of families head to Ludington for the countless number of activities, sure to please adults and kids alike.

Kids can be entertained for hours with a day at the beach or park, and Ludington has miles of clean, safe beaches and numerous parks for your family to enjoy. Ludington State Park offers both of these attractions, as well as boat rentals, hiking/biking trails, and more. Did someone say Mini Golf? The Ludington Area Jaycees Mini Golf Course at Stearns Park has been renovated with a “Landmarks of Ludington” theme and profits from the course are donated back to community enrichment organizations and programs!

Is a rainy day keeping you indoors? Don’t let a little liquid sunshine keep you from enjoying your stay! There’s many options for fun, indoor in Ludington, as well. Sandcastles Children’s Museum is a wonderful place to bring kids during the summer months. They offer 4 levels of fun, interactive exhibits and are open every day for the summer season from June-August.

Speaking of Museums, Ludington also has two historical museums. Historic White Pine Village is set on 23 acres overlooking Lake Michigan. It depicts life as it was in the early 1900’s with historic buildings and artifacts to explore. Their sister museum, the Port of Ludington Maritime Museum celebrates the area’s rich maritime history and is housed in a former U.S. Coast Guard Station.

The Mason County District Library has embraced children with its wide array of summer programs, designed to entertain and teach. The local movie theater offers eight different movies and McDonald’s and Burger King have indoor playlands.

Rumbling tummies? Ludington has many family-friendly restaurants that offer plenty of options that will please the palates of your family’s littlest members. Don’t forget to top off your meal with an ice cream cone!

You don’t have to break the bank to have a great time with your kids in Ludington. Between free music, festivals, and other events, there’s great fun to be had “on the cheap” here!

Nature Lover

For those who prefer to fill their senses with fresh air, rather than noisy technology, come to Ludington and enjoy what Mother Nature has to offer. A vacation spent in the great outdoors is just what the doctor ordered, and we have enough beauty here to spoil you. The “Queen of the State Parks,” also known as the Ludington State Park, should be at the top of your list. 

Fishing and boating are absolutely the best here, with many boat launches in the area. Charter captains are standing by, ready to share their expertise with you out on the big water. Rent a pontoon for relaxation, or a personal watercraft for a more exhilarating ride.

The beautiful golf courses of Ludington beckon you onto their greens and fairways. Play nine or 18 holes, with or without cart, on two public golf courses. 

Downtown Ludington is a great place to start for a day of outdoor fun. Take a walking tour of the colorful murals that grace many businesses. or, if time allows, take the leisurely four-hour trip across Lake Michigan on the S.S. Badger carferry.

Visit Stearns Park beach for great swimming or stroll the shoreline, and walk the long breakwall out to the North Breakwater Light. Ludington has many beautiful outdoor parks in which to have a picnic or grill your favorite meat.
