Love Ludington Weekend is a special time to celebrate everything that makes Ludington such a unique and vibrant place. From its charming downtown and artistic spirit to its strong sense of community and lakeshore beauty, there’s so much to love—and you’re invited to be part of it all. Enjoy a weekend full of festivities, including a lively street party, an inspiring art walk, the traditional boat blessing, a classic car show, and plenty of family-friendly fun for everyone.

Here's what happened in 2026:

Thursday

  • 6-10pm – The Badger Experience
    Beginning at The Lake House- 704 Maritime Dr. where alcoholic beverages and heavy appetizers will be served. Live music, drinks, & dessert will be offered once on board the ship. The event is a fundraiser for the Lakeshore Children’s Advocacy Center.

Friday

  • 10am-1pm – Cars & Coffee
    The Ludington Auto Club invites auto owners and enthusiasts to this free show at The 10 Spot- 5750 US-10. Multiple food trucks will be on site.
  • 12pm – Fish on for Freedom Welcome Gathering
  • 2-3:30pm – History of Ludington State Park
    Free one-mile hike where participants will learn the history of the park. Meet at Hamlin Dam.
  • 2-7pm – Farmer’s Market
    Shop vendors offering fresh produce, wine, bread, flowers, and more in Legacy Plaza- 112 N. James St. 
  • 6-9pm – Love Ludington Street Party
    Part of the downtown district will close for a huge street party featuring live music by Onager, kids’ activities, bounce houses, food trucks, and more. There will also be a vintage car show along Ludington Avenue between Robert and William Streets.
  • 8-11pm – Open Boat Night
    Tour the docked SS Badger Carferry. There will be live entertainment and the gift shop, concessions, and full-service bars will be open. 

Saturday

  • 10am-1pm – AFFEW Native Plant Sale
    Sale at Rotary Park- corner of Ludington Avenue & Lewis Street. 50 species of native plants will be available which the environments of insects, birds, and animals.
  • 4-10pm – Blessing of the Boats
    Join the annual boat blessing party at 950 W. Ludington Ave., featuring live music, food trucks, drinks, and raffles. Featured performers are Tom Zatarga, Defiance County, & Electric Red. 
  • 9-11pm – SS Badger Shoreline Cruise
    Tickets include live music, food, and cash bar and are $60/person.

Sunday

  • 1-2pm – Beach Clean-Up
    A Few Friends for the Environment of the World (AFFEW) host this event where volunteers who help with clean up receive two passes to the North Breakwater Light, courtesy of Lakeshore Keepers. Meet at the end of West Ludington Avenue. Gloves & bags provided.
