Stratford "Off" the Avenue Theatre Festival

Taking a Break for 2023

The annual Stratford on the Avenue Theatre Festival is a production of the Stage Left Theatre Company, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization comprised of local individuals dedicated to providing a variety of theatre opportunities to the community and, eventually, hosting educational workshops and children’s theatre events. Friday and Saturday performances generally begin at 7pm and the Sunday performance begins at 2pm.

The event features classical play performances by the likes of Shakespeare, Molière, Wild, etc. For 2022, the event proceeds went to the Ludington Area Center for the Arts and Stage Left’s scholarship program and future learning opportunities for actors. The classic production was Measure for Measure directed by Kara Rose and Nicki Danyluk, preceded by a comedic adaptation of The Tempest, entitled “Got Milk”, written and directed by Terra McIntosh.

The event has traditionally been held at Rotary Park (formerly City Park) in downtown Ludington but moved to the Ludington Area Center for the Arts for the 2022 season and going forward, hence the name change from Stratford “on” the Avenue to Stratford “Off” the Avenue.

There will also be t-shirts for sale at the performances with all proceeds to benefit upcoming Stage Left programs like their Youth Theatre Project, acting workshops, and educational scholarships.
