Summer, 2022

The annual Stratford on the Avenue Theatre Festival is a production of the Stage Left Theatre Company, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization comprised of local individuals dedicated to providing a variety of theatre opportunities to the community and, eventually, hosting educational workshops and children’s theatre events. Friday and Saturday performances generally begin at 7pm and the Sunday performance begins at 2pm.

The event is held at Rotary Park (formerly City Park) in downtown Ludington and features classical play performances by the likes of Shakespeare, Molière, Wild, etc. The 2021 event included a classic performance of Shakespeare’s The Comedy of Errors and an abridged, comedic adaptation of Julius Caesar, both directed by Nathan Anderson. Half the proceeds from the 2021 show were donated to the Childhood Cancer Campaign, in memory of Will Flewelling, a close friend of Nathan’s who had recently passed away from cancer.

Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and picnic blankets for the show.

Tickets are generally $7 in advance and $10 at the gate.

There are also t-shirts for sale and all proceeds benefit upcoming Stage Left programs like their Youth Theatre Project, acting workshops, and educational scholarships.
