Friends of Ludington State Park

Friends of Ludington State Park is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that is dedicated to promoting wise use and conservation of the Ludington State Park. The organization supports and helps improve the park by funding projects, recreational equipment and interpretive programs, and by volunteering to assist park staff on projects and trail clean-up.

Programming

The FLSP hosts many programs throughout the year to encourage use of the park and raise funds for future projects. Here is their current program lineup:

  • Tuesday, April 4th, 2023 from 7-8pm – Invasive species Management In and Around the Ludington State Park Zoom Presentation by Bri Jasinski, HWA Project Manager- Mason-Lake Conservation District; Vicki Sawicki, Program Coordinator- North Country CISMA; Sara Bolan, Director, AFFEW (A Few Friends for the Environment of the World); and Jim Gallie, Park Manager.   • Thursday, April 6th, 2023 at 7pm – All About Native Plants Presentation with Cheryl Gross, President of Plant It Wild at the Ludington Resource Network- 920 E. Tinkham Ave., Ludington. To register, email sarab@affew.org.
  • Sunday, April 16th, 2023 at 2pm – Guided hike beginning at the State Park Warming Shelter. 
  • Tuesday, April 25th, 2023 from 7-8pm – State of the Ludington State Park Zoom Presentation with Jim Gallie, Park Manager. Register here.
  • Saturday, May 13th, 2023 from 10am-3pm – National Archery Day for ages 8 and up at the State Park behind the Amphitheater. Free event.
  • Sunday, May 21st 2023 at 2pm – Guided hike beginning at the State Park Warming Shelter. 
  • Sunday, June 18th, 2023 at 2pm – Guided hike beginning at the State Park Warming Shelter. 
  • Sunday, July 16th, 2023 at 2pm – Guided hike beginning at the State Park Warming Shelter. 
  • Sunday, August 20th, 2023 at 2pm – Guided hike beginning at the State Park Warming Shelter. 
  • Sunday, September 17th, 2023 at 2pm – Guided hike beginning at the State Park Warming Shelter. 
  • Sunday, October 15th, 2023 at 2pm – Guided hike beginning at the State Park Warming Shelter. 
  • Sunday, November 19th, 2023 at 2pm – Guided hike beginning at the State Park Warming Shelter. 
  • Sunday, December 17th, 2023 at 2pm – Guided hike beginning at the State Park Warming Shelter.
