Friends of Ludington State Park is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that is dedicated to promoting wise use and conservation of the Ludington State Park. The organization supports and helps improve the park by funding projects, recreational equipment and interpretive programs, and by volunteering to assist park staff on projects and trail clean-up.

The Michigan DNR has announced that the Ludington State Park will be closed from September 3rd, 2024 through July 1st, 2025 for renovations. Improvements include parking lot repaving and expansion, plus upgrades to warming shelters and traffic areas.
