Pere Marquette Conservation Park

In August of 2021, the Pere Marquette Charter Township unveiled the new Pere Marquette Conservation Park, located on 300 acres of land that was formerly Dow Chemical property. It is located off of Iris Road and is bounded by Pere Marquette Lake, Pere Marquette Highway, Iris Road and Lakeshore Drive. The park also boasts waterfront views of Pere Marquette Lake, the Pere Marquette River, and a small portion on Lake Michigan. Buttersville Park is an adjoining township park provides Lake Michigan frontage and camping.

Pere Marquette Expeditions

Call ahead for canoe, kayak, double kayak and SUP rentals. Launch here or take off-site! Rental rates on our website. Bait, tackle, and sport licenses available here. Huge selection of golf discs and accessories! Get your beer, wine, liquor, live bait, tackle, and camping supplies here! Open daily 6am-11:30pm.

Drive South on Pere Marquette Highway to Iris Road, just past Pere Marquette Expeditions. Turn right onto Iris Road and continue to the park entrance on the right.

The venture was made possible by a Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund grant, the Pennies from Heaven Foundation, Tom Paine of Metalworks, and various community foundations.

While the park is still in the developmental stages, it is open daily. Future plans include rest rooms, picnic areas, playgrounds, sports fields, a swimming beach, a winter sports activity area, hiking/biking trails, and more.
