Visit Summit Park on Lake Michigan

If you’re looking for a great view, visit Summit Park! Located on South Lakeshore Drive between Ludington and Pentwater, and past the Ludington Pumped Storage Plant, this park has picnic tables that overlook Lake Michigan, with grills available. It’s a great place to spend a quiet afternoon and feel the breeze on your face.

In 2013, volunteers got together and installed brand new playground equipment at Summit Park. Included are a pirate ship play station, new swings and a thick layer of wood chips for protection.

Follow the sandy path down to the beach and enjoy swimming or sunning on a hot summer day. Because it’s a little off the beaten path, you may find less crowds, affording you more privacy.

As with many other parks, there is a shelter/pavilion and restrooms. Summit Park also has a sports field for baseball or softball.

Summit Park Special Occasion Rentals

The beach, itself, is open for celebrations with no fee or permits necessary. One requirement is that no tents are allowed but setting up chairs is acceptable. The Summit Park pavilion has 40 folding chairs, six long tables, picnic tables, stove, microwave, and refrigerator available for use. The pavilion can hold up to 75 people and can be rented for a small fee.

Visit summittownship.org for more information about renting the pavilion at Summit Township Park.
Summit Park is located at:
5581 South Lakeshore Dr, Ludington, MI 49431

Directions: From Ludington, take Old 31 Highway across the Pere Marquette River, and turn right on Iris Road. Follow Iris to the “T” in the road, and turn left onto South Lakeshore Drive. Drive past the Pumped Storage Plant, and shortly after Meisenheimer Road, Summit Park will be on your right.
