Ludington Earth Day Events

April 2027

Each April, AFFEW (A Few Friends for the Environment of the World) hosts an annual Earth Day event in Ludington.

The event is held at the Ludington United Methodist Church- 5810 E. Bryant Rd. from 10am-4pm and includes a variety of speakers, informational booths representing the community and our partners, activities for children including a live reptile show and a guided hike, and tours of the U Dig It Community Garden located behind the church.

Here's what happened in 2026:

  • 10am – Doors Open
  • 10:30-11am – Singing & Drumming for joy and spirit
  • 11am-12pm –Presentation on the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians Natural Resources Department stewardship work
  • 11am-2pm – Kids Activities including Book Walk, button making, petunia planting, bird-watch window, and photo booth
  • 11am-2pm – Earthly Treats by Dannee & Kay available for purchase
  • 11am-3pm – Informational Booths
  • 11:30am-1:30pm – Reptiles & Amphibians Exhibit open
  • 12:15-1:15pm – “The Good, the Bad, & Trade-Offs of Large Scale Solar” with Mary Reilly
  • 1-2:30pm – Tours of the U Dig It Community Garden
  • 1:30-2:30pm – Live Reptiles & Amphibians with Jim McGrath
  • 2:30-3:45pm – “Go Beyond Beauty” with Michael Ramsey of North Country CISMA
  • 3-4pm – Guided Hike with Dave Dister
